A-Z Of Doctor Who Monsters And Villains:File F-Foamasi

FOAMASI

And now a small glimpse of a few of the creatures of the universe who share a very human condition with the rest of Planet Earth. Space Obesity. We can see the evidence here, in the form of the Foamasi. Fat, lazy lizards that once engaged in a war with the people of Argolis...which lasted all of 20 minutes.
Now perhaps you can see why the war was only 20 minutes long

It is uncertain what these creatures actually do or where they really come from. But it is known that they do not speak English and that their speech cannot be translated by the TARDIS or by anyone else except for the Doctor.
After the war, the Foamasi tried to purchase the planet of Argolis as they were the only ones that could survive the high radiation levels that was lethal to everyone else, including the Argolins.

In terms of physical features, they have a retractable tail that is supposedly meant to help them fit into small spaces. How they ever thought that would work, given their overweight bodies, is unknown.

Looking Vexed: Mena the Argolin.
Maybe it's not vexation.
Maybe the thing on her head is sucking the life force and all her intelligence from her brain.
"Slurp. Slurp Slurp"

Their government is completely against any sort of criminal activity and special units are sent out to stop them and their activities. A small group of said criminals escaped to the Leisure Hive on Argolis, a scientifically fuelled holiday resort.

A type of grenades used for catching criminals.
COCOONS!

  2. I have never watched the show. That's so sad to admit. That's a cool villain.

    1. Then Elizabeth, you are missing out on a whole world of wobbling sets, dodgy costumes, overacting and papier mache landscapes.

  3. I was amused by the thought of those Flies (lizards) fighting in Argos. But they would not be the first or the last.
