DAEMONS
The Daemons are a powerful race of God-like creatures. Humanoid in appearance and known throughout history as the Devil, the Daemons, (especially one in particular Azal) are responsible for pushing forward the evolutionary processes on Earth.
In fact, they have been achieving similar things with other worlds, but unknown to the inhabitants of each of those planets, the aliens just see these denizens as a form of experiment.

The Master |
When the Master, (surely a patron from the school of RADA) summons Azal asking for a share of his ascendency, Azal makes a decision as to whether Earth should continue to exist as part of the experiment. The Earth however, does survive, but when the Daemon tries to kill the Doctor for refusing his gift of a share of his power, companion Jo Grant put herself in his place, (because she's an idiot) effectively, sacrificing herself for the Doctor. Azal clearly does not compute such an act and shows this by, shouting "Does Not Compute," before self destructing, just so we're all crystal clear that he did not indeed, compute.
I don't actually know the purpose of Bok is, but he exists. He exists to point at people in order to kill them and turn them into nothingness and to stick his tongue out all the time with his knees bent.
I have to say some of the stories once written down on paper look a bit dodgy. And some of the old monsters look a bit dodgy. But back in the old days most peoples television picture was rubbish and grainy so it was hard to tell the difference between the dancers of come dancing (every sequin sown on by hand) and the invading hoards made with traffic comes and gaff tape on Dr Who. OK there was not a lot of sequence dancing going on, on Dr Who put when they have done it they are good very good and would always get through to the regional final.
ReplyDeleteAH DAMN I appear to be going mad. . . sorry about that. Still it makes a better comment I find
Rob Z Tobor
But when they have done it . . . . I said I was going mad . . .stupid QWERTY keyboard.
DeleteRob, I only know what Come Dancing is because Mater is always going on about the programmes she watched when she was a child. I didn't know that they had TV back in the Jurassic period.
DeleteObviously on alien planets, polystyrene was the norm as were monsters that looked like they were made from bubble wrap. Plus all habitats were made of a flimsy type cardboard, which was easy to dissemble when they had to move planets due to invasion.
I LOVE Dr. Who! New follower here. I'm stopping by from the "A to Z" challenge, and I look forward to visiting again!
